Welcoming New Families
We welcome new patients to our practice! To establish care with us, please call our office to set up an appointment. If there is a specific pediatrician you would like to see, we will do our best to accommodate your request. Otherwise, we will have your child see a physician who has an opening that best fits your schedule.
Please read the following checklist carefully to be sureThe Children's Clinic is the appropriate medical home for your children. We look forward to meeting you and forming a mutually rewarding relationship.
New Patient Checklist:
Vaccines
Our Vaccine Statement summarizes our philosophy on vaccines.
Antibiotics
We do not prescribe antibiotics without seeing the patient first.
We prescribe antibiotics only when medically necessary: when we believe your child has a bacterial infection and treatment with antibiotics provides clinical benefits. Overuse or inappropriate use of antibiotics may cause resistance, which is a public health risk.
Medical Home
We work hard to provide comprehensive medical care and serve as your medical home. To that end, we expect that you contact our office FIRST before seeking specialty care. We want to be involved in either providing care in our office where appropriate, or referring you to the most appropriate specialist and helping to coordinate your care.
Whenever you do see a specialist, we ask that you request a report be sent directly to our office so we may stay informed and have the most up-to-date information in your medical record.
Technology
Our practice prides itself on efficiency through use of technology. You will be encouraged to consult our website, register for and use our patient portal, and effectively use automated reminders for appointments and for routine care/immunizations that are due.
Join us on Facebook and Instagram for informative articles, timely updates, and to see what fun we are having at TCC!
Office Hours
We make every effort to meet the needs of our patients, offering both routine preventive and sick visit appointments.
To ensure we provided you with the most efficient care we highly recommend you call ahead to schedule an appointment.
Please familiarize yourself with our office hours.
After Hours
We have a physician on call 24/7/365. When our office is closed and you have an urgent issue that cannot wait until morning, you can call our main number and follow the instructions to reach our triage service.
A popular page on our website is medicine dosages.

Insurance

It is your responsibility to know the limits and coverage of your particular health insurance policy, to show your cards to us at each visit, and be prepared to pay any copays at the time of service.
Our billing staff will do their best to assist you with insurance questions; however, if you have questions about your coverage, it is best check with your specific insurance company.
Billing and Fees
Please speak to our billing department if you have any questions about our billing practices. All of our fees are competitive with similar services rendered in the Anchorage area. We do have our most common CPT codes and fees available for you to review.
Preventive visits that involve additional concerns beyond what is routinely covered may lead to an additional charge for the time spent to address everything in a single appointment.
Scheduling Appointments
We ask that all appointments be scheduled in advance. Please call our office to schedule preventive and acute care appointments.
Please let us know if there are specific concerns that you would like addressed at your child's preventive visit so we may allow additional time. We may choose to schedule a separate appointment to address these concerns more thoroughly.
Timeliness to Appointments
Our practice makes every effort to run on time with appointments, as we believe everyone’s time is equally valuable.
As a courtesy, we will remind you of your upcoming appointments via text message.
For all of our new families, we ask that you please complete the New Patient Forms prior to your child’s first appointment or arrive 15 minutes early to fill out the forms in our office.
If you are transferring care from another clinic, please provide us with your child’s previous records, preferably prior to the first appointment. You may request records from the previous provider by filling out the Requesting Medical Records from Previous Physician Form (PDF).
We understand sometimes things happen beyond your control that may cause you to be late. However, we reserve the right to ask you to reschedule if you arrive late for your appointment.
Missed Appointments
Missed appointments represent a cost to us, to you, and to other patients who could have been seen in the time set aside for you. We do charge a "No Show" fee for missed appointments. This fee is a patient only charge of $30.00. We request 24 hours notice for cancellation of appointments.
Repeated missed appointments will result in discharge from the practice.
