Susannah Olnes, MD, FAAP

Dr. Susannah Olnes was born in London, England, and raised in New York City by artist parents. She received her undergraduate degree from New York University, her M.D. From Uniform Services University and completed her pediatric residency training at Inova Children Hospital. She is board certified and a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. She recently received the Pediatric Clerkship Faculty Teaching Award for 2023 - 2024 for her substantial contribution to medical education within the Pediatric Clerkship at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

Before coming to The Children's Clinic, she worked for over 24 years serving all over the country in Indian Health. She still continues to do some of this work in Alaska and hopes to check out more remote villages of Alaska. She has been involved in setting up and running childhood healthy weight clinics.

She loves anything pediatrics, especially loves to help families with children with neurodiversity. She finds extreme joy in assisting families navigate complex medical conditions to see their children thrive. She is also a deep lover of all developmental stages of childhood to include those crazy teen years.  She often continues to see “kids” well into their college years.

She is extremely proud of her family which includes her hard working husband who is a hematologist/oncologist and is obsessed with exercise, three successful and kind grown children, one wonderful and sweet son-in-law, an absolutely adorable grand-daughter, two crazy hunting dogs, two sweet cats, three funny ducks, and 15 quail depending on the time of year. When she is not at work she is likely traveling to see family, hiking/biking/walking with friends, playing piano (also trying to learn the uke), drawing, painting, or having fun in class with her piyo ladies.
