Jeanette Legenza MD, FAAP
Dr. Legenza is originally a farm girl from central Pennsylvania. Her childhood was full of horseback riding, playing with kittens, chasing baby piglets and climbing on hay bales. She also fell in love with sports. After majoring in biochemistry at Bucknell University, she took a few years off to coach field hockey in North Carolina. She then attended Albany Medical College in New York, followed by an Air Force pediatric residency at Wright-Patterson AFB/Wright State University in Ohio. She worked at Keesler AFB in Mississippi for a few years and then decided to try Alaska on for size. Sixteen years later, she is still privileged to work at The Children’s Clinic.

As a child, Dr. Legenza dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Later on, she decided she preferred spending her time in clinics instead of barns. During her pediatric rotation, she realized that caring for children and their families was the right place to be! She enjoys meeting new parents and helping families grow and mature together over the years. She hopes to be an important “other” in the lives of her patients.

When not at work, you can find her watching her sons play basketball and football, cycling or trying to improve her skating and ice hockey skills. She loves spending time with her family, traveling, dining out, listening to live music, playing games and solving puzzles. She is happiest when she is actively practicing mindfulness and gratitude.
